Free pet sitter care sheet
The one page your sitter needs. Fill it in on screen or print it, then walk through it together before you leave.
By downloading, you agree to our Terms of Use. For personal use.
What’s on it
- Dog’s name, breed, age, weight and microchip number
- Your phone, a backup person, and when you’ll be home
- Your regular vet and the nearest 24-hour emergency vet
- Food: what, how much, when
- Medications: name, dose, time, and how to give them
- Walk and potty times, and where everything is kept
- Fears, triggers and escape habits
- “Never let my dog…”: the one rule above all
- What’s normal for your dog, and what should trigger a call to you
- Both 24/7 poison-control numbers
How to use it
- Fill it in a few days before you leave, not the night before.
- Print one copy and text the PDF. Paper works when phones die; the PDF works when your sitter is out.
- Walk through it together at the hand-off. Five minutes of walking the house prevents most “where’s the…” texts.
Want the rest of the system?
The care sheet covers the hand-off. The free Pet-Sitter Vetting Kit covers choosing the person in the first place: 12 interview questions, a red-flag checklist, a trial-run guide and a care agreement.
This sheet organizes information. It isn’t veterinary advice; when anything about your dog’s health is unclear, your sitter’s first call is your vet.
